Featured Artist: Ninjaplease – A Soundtrack of Survival
Some artists find music. Others are claimed by it – carried through fire by sound alone.
Ninjaplease is one of those artists.
From his first classical guitar at age four – gifted by his Romani grandmother in Uruguay – to composing cinematic soundscapes today using only free tools, his journey is anything but ordinary. It spans continents, careers, and lifetimes of hardship. But what emerges from the speakers is something rare: clarity, beauty, and emotional truth.
His latest track, Theme From Socora LITE, is built entirely using presets from our free cinematic synth (with no external effects). Just raw sound and story – shaped into something haunting, hopeful, and deeply alive.
“I’ve been having an absolute blast with Socora LITE… I started on classical guitar, then the rock guitar bug hit, then writing pop songs, and by now I don’t give a damn about genres. So if you click on one of my compositions on Bandcamp and don’t like it, try the next. It will be different.”
It’s hard to summarise Ninjaplease’s life story – it spans artistic success, unthinkable betrayal, misdiagnosis, and ultimately, resilience. For years, he was mislabelled bipolar and prescribed a fog of medications, only to discover the root of his suffering was untreated PTSD. Today, even while recovering from the physical damage of that misdiagnosis, he continues to make music daily – teaching veterans with Guitars For Vets, rehabilitating dogs, and writing genre-free soundtracks for his own healing and the healing of others.
“I’ve bounced back from every setback, a little worse for wear each time—but also wiser. Bonus is, I haven’t been afraid of anything for a long time.”
It’s not just the music that speaks – it’s the defiance of silence. It’s the voice that says I’m still here, through melody and movement. We’re honoured to share his work, and we encourage you to listen, support, and get lost in the world he creates.
